How to force login to appear inside of FancyBox?

Symfony 1.4 using Propel and sfGuardUserPlugin.

Last week I thought I had an answer for this. If I go to the login form I can force the form to appear in the jQuery Fancybox. However, it also appears in the background. See the screenshot.

My client has rejected this. My client says, if I am on the front page and try to go to a page where I need to be logged in, then I should still the see the front page in the background, but the login form should appear in the Fancybox.

Can anyone think of a way to do this?
